Concrete foundations or above-grade concrete walls that require large diameter holes bored through them require a core drill machine or rig. Holes up to 10" in diameter, for utilities, fireplace venting or other access needs, can be bored through reinforced concrete or Insulated Concrete Form walls. The large diameter diamond drill bit can make clean holes, even through reinforced concrete with metal rebar.
To complete the process of core drilling the large diameter hole through the foundation wall or concrete floor, the core drilling rig must be anchored to the concrete. The use of water is required to cool the large diamond drill bit as it cores the concrete wall or floor.
